My Baby Blues Cattery

Our Contract

Purchase Agreement

Responsibilites of the Breeder:

  • To provide a healthy Russian Blue kitten registered with The International Cat Association (TICA.)  This organization works to insure that breeding is done in a responsible manner.
  • To raise each kitten in a home environment to ensure the best possible care and socialization.  Cages are not used in our breeding program; kittens and their mothers live in our home and are our beloved family members.
  • To train each kitten for the litter box.
  • To provide quality veterinary care for all of our cats.  Each kitten receives a check-up and its shots on or just before eight weeks of age.  This includes vaccination for Panleukopenia, Rhinotracheitis and Calicivirus (FVRCP.)  At twelve weeks the kitten again receives a veterinary examination with their FVRCP series and a rabies shot.  If the owner chooses to pick up the kitten before twelve weeks of age these vaccinations become the owner's responsibility.
  • To provide registry blue slip.
  • To do our utmost to insure the health and happiness of each kitten.

Responsibilities of the Purchaser:

  • To provide all pertinent information about the circumstances of a kitten's new home.  For example, other pets or children, so that the breeder may provide counseling and have the means to choose a kitten that will most easily fit into the purchaser's home environment.
  • To have the kitten spayed or neutered by six months of age and send proof signed by the veterinarian to the breeder.  Should Purchaser breed any kitten sold as "not for breeding," Breeder reserves the right to collect damages in the form of (but not limited to,) increased purchase price to reflect the kitten's breeding status and commission from the sale of any issue as well as any fees assiciated with said collection.  Kittens sold as pets will not have breeding rights recognized through TICA or CFA (Cat Fancier's Association) and resulting offspring will not be considered to be pedigreed by either registry.
  • To maintain the diet and litter on which the kitten was raised until the kitten has adjusted to its new home.  If the purchaser desires a change in these products it is suggested  that they slowly phase out the old diet to prevent stomach upset, and that the litter be phased out to prevent accidents.
  • To provide all the appropriate vaccinations and veterinary care, (including twelve week shots and exam if necessary,) and a yearly checki-up thereafter.
  • To provide a secure environment in the home.  Under no circumstances will the purchaser allow a cat to roam outside.  Acceptable alternatives are outdoor enclosures or supervised exercise on a halter and leash.
  • Should any issue arise over the lifetime of the cat that would cause the purchaser to seek a new home for the animal, they are asked to contact us.  We will take back any pet for any reason before we will see it go to the pound.

All kittens receive veterinary care from Loyalsock Animal Hospital (Loyalsock, PA 570-326-1709,) and will not be sold unless pronounced in sound health.  It is strongly suggested that the purchaser take the kitten to their veterinarian as soon as possible upon receipt to confirm health.  It is furthermore necessary that all cats already in the purchaser's home be up to date on their veterinary care in order to prevent the spread of disease to a healthy kitten.  Breeder cannot be held responsible for injury or disease occurring after the date of sale.  However, in cases of pre-mature or accidental death within twelve months of sale Breeder will work with client to replace kitten at an adjusted rate.

We guarantee health at time of sale, not personality.  Please understand that although we do our best to match each kitten to a compatible home, each animal is a unique individual.
