Home of MY BABY BLUES cattery.

Where our kittens are like miniature people in cat's pajamas.

Going Home...

Before your My Baby Blues kitten heads to your home from ours, you'll need to make sure you're ready for him or her.  You'll need:

1) food & water dishes

2) food (we recommend Life's Abundance)

3) litter box & scoop

4) kitty litter

5) cat carrier

6) brush & flea comb

7) nail clippers

8) scratching post

9) toys

10) lots of love & patience

Think of your new kitten as you would a human baby &/or a small child.  Kittenproof your home by checking for dangling cords or plants that a playful kitten would like to chew on.  Do not leave things such as yarn, thread, string, even Christmas tinsel and ribbons and Easter grass where your kitten can get to it.  Ingesting any of these items could be fatal to your kitten as it could become tangled in its intestines.  At the very least it could mean expensive surgery to have it removed.  Is there a small crevice that your kitten could get stuck in? Check the areas next to and behind your refridgerator, washer and dryer.   Be sure to check IN your large appliances before starting them, in particular your dishwasher and clothes dryer.  Are there breakable items sitting out that your kitten could knock over?  Are there any poisonous substances that he or she could get into? Numerous house plants are poisonous to felines.   Remember, just because something is food to us, doesn't mean that it's safe for your kitten.  It doesn't hurt to get on your hands and knees and look around to see your kitten's new world from their perspective.

Have you chosen the veterinarian that you'll be using yet?  If you don't already have one, speak to friends who are pet owners.  We want you to take your kitten to the vet as soon as possible after you get home;  since it's healthy when it leaves us, we want your vet to see it to determine a "base line" of what it should look like when all is well.
